Writers Needed Where You Could Submit Your Compositions and Get Paid for Writing

I haven't stopped searching online for other sources of writing opportunities out there. I came across blogging and have started my own blogs.  I joined Factoidz and published some articles. I also joined some sites where I could publish my kind of poetry.  And I've read about sites where you could apply and write articles using a given keyword.

Writing as a hobby is fun. And it is rewarding enough that people read what we write and leave good comments about it. It is also heartwarming to know that we could reach out to other people from all over the world through our writing.

It is for this reason that we would like to earn some extra income through our love for writing. We don't want to stop putting our thoughts on paper. We want to keep our fingers poised on top of the keyboard and continue to produce useful, informative and entertaining articles and/or poetry that will evoke some form of emotion from our readers.

There are plenty of opportunities for writers in the Internet. Just try searching for 'writing jobs' and it will generate a thousand results we wouldn't know what to do with. What I have here though, is another unique opportunity for writers which I recently learned about. It is earning extra income by submitting articles for magazines and other like markets. I haven't tried any of them yet, but after reading through their guidelines, I know, we could all use the lead.

Here are nine sites that I thought might be of interest to you:

1.Blue Mountain Arts – They are interested in receiving poetry and writings that would be appropriate for their greeting cards. They pay $300 for your poem that they would publish worldwide on their greeting cards and $50 for one time use of poem in their book.

2.Skirt Magazine - They accept essays that reflect the diversity of women's lives and interests.

3.Guideposts – They are looking for inspiring stories from inspiring people.

4.The Sun – They publish essays, poetry, fiction and interviews. Pay is between $300 to $3,000. 

5.Metro Parent – They're looking for “fun and substantive local stories of interest to local parents”. Pay per article range from $65 to $350 depending on the length of the article.

6.Chicago Parent – This is a parenting news magazine. They pay $25 to $100 per article depending upon the length of the article.

7.Missouri Review – They accept poetry, fiction and non-fiction. They pay $30 per printed page.

8.Whole Life Times – They accept submissions on anything that deals with healthy lifestyles. Pay per article is between $150 - $200 for stories with 800 to 1,000 words.

9.Y'all – They need articles about Southern cultures. Pay is $0.15 per word published.

This is just a short list. I know there are still other magazines out there that may need your writing contributions.
