The Best Places to Submit Articles Online

Where can new or beginning writers earn money while writing articles online? There are websites that pay revenue stream income, which is a portion of what the website earns from your works, and most offer assignments that pay instantly. In order to earn a living wage, a new writer would have to dedicate the majority of the day to writing, and have a successful blog at the same time.

The online writing industry has taken major hits lately, and many writers are abandoning the bigger article submission websites for those sites that pay instantly.  From student theses for Arts and Crafts 101 to microsurgery, there are sites where students pay writers to do their course work for them.  These sites pay in the $15 to $60 range for a 1500 word paper with proper source citations, but for the average writer the article submission sites is the best way to start your online writing career.

For the average writer, submitting articles to online sites that pay Revenue Share (RS) for their articles, as well as writing daily blog posts, is the best way to earn a decent wage while writing online.  In order to earn a living wage you would have to be a prolific writer, pumping out 15 to 20 articles a day and two or three sponsored blogs, but for the writer who is looking to supplement their income, a couple of hundred dollars a month is easily attainable at online RS sites like Helium, Factoidz and Yahoo!

Some of the better sites have contests that pay the winners in cash, and have publishers buying already existing content from writers.   The best article submission sites for new writers would include, but not be limited to;

  • Helium offers an “Assignments” section where articles are listed with the offered pay.  Articles for Helium pay only $1 to $3 each, but publisher requested articles pay very well, sometimes a few hundred dollars. The majority of article requests are for 400 words. How-to articles and videos are now available on Helium, and pay very well in the RS stream.  400 word minimum per article.
  • Yahoo! Yahoo.com offers RS and has some assignments, or “Beats” that pay from $8 to $35 each, and can be from one submission per month to two to five per week, and from 250 words to over 1500 words.  Writers can apply for special assignments that can be daily, weekly or monthly submissions. RS submissions can be of any topic, but the word limits should be kept in mind (400 words)
  • Factoidz.com.  Factoidz doesn’t offer RS, but they pay very well for quality submissions.  As long as you write well, with flawless grammar and spelling, you can easily average $8 to $15 per submission.  Writing articles that are comparisons between products or services, or knowledge-based articles, how-to guides and product descriptions pay well.

New writers should understand before they start that they will not be earning any major money before they have 500 to 1,000 articles at each site (or more), and even then will most likely not earn a living wage.  You should write to all of the sites that you prefer, and keep a stable of articles that can stand the test of time.  One thing to take into consideration is the timing of your submissions, as entering Christmas articles in June will most likely not garner any income through RS.
